Juice Vocal Ensemble – Call for Works: ‘Snow Queens‘ Programme

Following the success of our very first call for works in 2015, Juice Vocal Ensemble are excited to announce our (now) annual call for works for our programme, ‘Snow Queens’. This call is open to all emerging composers of any nationality or age. Our only stipulation is that the work be no more than 5 minutes in length and clearly inspired by winter and all that season brings. They can be either secular or sacred in nature and can include extended vocal techniques or graphic notation. Instrumentation can either be a cappella SSA or SSA plus handheld percussion (to be played by the singers).

All submissions must be sent as PDFs, any audio files must be MP3s and there is a small fee of £5 to cover administration costs to be paid via Paypal. Please send these or ask any questions using the email snowqueensmusic@gmail.com.

The deadline for submissions is midnight (GMT) on Monday 16th October 2017. Works selected will be announced in November and performed and recorded live in London during December.

After our 2015 call, we were very fortunate to be able to perform some of the chosen works live on Radio 3 in January 2016 and gave them repeat performances in other programmes throughout the year. We also hope to continue to perform them in our future ‘Snow Queens’ concerts.
